Happy Halloween

We had so much fun dressing up as a farm family.  I did not take alot of pictures, because I was so busy having fun with Alex and Ava.  I hope my sister and her friend Kelly got some great shots with their awesome cameras.  A big thank you to my sister who hosted a super fabulous Halloween party.  This Halloween was incredible!  We all went trick or treating together, even my two brothers who flew in for Alex and Tillies Baptism tomorrow.  I love my family so much.  I hope everyone had a great Halloween.

Well Checks

Friday Ava and Alex had their well checks.  Alex weighed in at 14lbs and is 26 1/2 inches long putting him in the 25-50%.  Ava weighed in at 31lbs and I forgot the height but both were in the 75%.  We had a long discussion about Ava's speech and we have decided to switch therapist on the basis that sometimes certain people just don't mesh well together.  Ava still isn't talking after six months of therapy.  We still hear her say "more, mom, up" and a few others but she is obviously not even close to where she needs to be.  We are also looking into seeing a developmental interventionist at Carriage House.  There is a waiting list so we will see how this goes.  Her current therapist assures me she is just not ready to talk yet, and that there is nothing medically wrong with her ( tongue tied, hearing issues, ect.)  It is soooooooooooooo frustrating for me so I'm sure it's equally if not more for Ava.  It really sucks when your child has a problem that you can't fix.  I feel like I am doing my best to help her, but it's not good enough and I don't know what else to do.

Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to lately.

Happy Halloween and Alex's four month b-day!

So much has been going on around the Hughe's house lately.  Alex will be four months old tomorrow!  He has decided to take a bottle for me thank goodness!  He took one when he was 3 weeks old and stopped up until two days ago.  He has always been a excellent sleeper, but now he is a super excellent sleeper!  He sleeps all night from 10-6 or 7 sometimes.  He loves his crib and sleeps best there, I moved him out of the co-sleeper about a month ago.  He has begun playing in his exersaucer, and he can almost turn over.  Ava and Alex will be going to the doctor this Friday for their checkups.  I'll be updating alot this week considering, it will be my Anniversary, the kids checkups, and we tour some schools for the kids.  Here are some pictures of the Zoo Halloween party, babysitting Leo and Gus, and just hanging out around the house.

Gallrein Farm....... A new tradition

We decided to try out a new place to go and gather our pumpkins this fall.  Gallrein farm was AMAZING to say the least, We will definitely be making this our new family tradition.  This farm was suggested to us by my Mom and Marianne. The farm is located in Shelbyville,Ky. Huber's is definitely bigger and more commercialized.  The only thing we slightly missed from Huber's was the wine, but with two small kids it's not like we would have time to sip slowly on and enjoy it.  We were able to do so many things so quickly because the crowd was no where near what Huber's is this time of year. At Gallrein farm we went on a tractor ride, pony rides, picked pumpkins, played in the hay pit, climbed a hay pyramid, and went to the free petting zoo. I am not dissing Huber's farm at all.  We love it and it has served us well, but we fell in love with a new farm and were swept away by the charm this place had to offer.  Ava was spoiled rotten by Mimi.  Mimi treated Ava to not one, not two, but THREE pony rides, lots of pumpkins, a bag of candy corn, and a stick horse from Cracker Barrel!  In fact Mimi treated everyone the entire day!  THANK YOU MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The pictures are cute but do not really show how excited Ava was about the pony rides, and petting zoo.  Ava loves all animals especially horses.  She has no fear of any animal.  She was ecstatic, literally shaking and smiling in my arms while we waited to ride the pony.  Alex was pretty content I'm not sure how much fun he had.  I think the highlight for him was me feeding him in the car. Next year he will be right up there running around with his big sister at Gallrein farm.

Fantastic Fall

Fall is my favorite time of year!  This is why I chose to have an October wedding.  Fall has so many fun activities that come with it, my anniversary is definatley at the top of the list!   Just the smell of fall in the air makes me feel so refreshed, sometimes I help out that smell in my house by lighting my pumpkin harvest candle.  In the next couple of weeks we plan on going to Huber's farm, the Zoo Halloween party, having a dinner date night for the big 3 year anniversary, and of course trick-or treating for Halloween.  Here are some pictures of our fun fall so far!!!!!!!!!!
