Finally Updating

First I want to say I have tried to update this blog twice before now and it has been deleted somehow,  I hope this third attempt is more successful.

Work:  I will be glad when work is over, especially this month.  This week I have to stay late for perspective parent night, and an open house.  Next week is not much better, my director asked me to give a presentation on our religious curriculum to the entire BOARD of DIRECTORS of Sacred Heart Schools!!!   I was flattered at first and now the more I think about it the more nervous I am getting.  I really don't want to go into the meeting room by myself and give this presentation!  I'm trying to pump myself up by remembering my A I got in public speaking at Alabama!  I think conferences are this month as well!!  After all this being said I will miss my job when I leave.  I love working in an environment that is creative and fast paced.  I never have a second to let my mind wonder with this job, this can be exhausting but I think it's good for me.  It's incredible to me to see how my kids have blossomed after Christmas.  One little girl in particular could not recognize any letters, sounds of letters, or even recognize her name.  Now she can do all these things and is the most social in my class!  I love seeing kids progress and learn.

Ava:  Ava is doing marvelous!  She is not talking as much as I would like her to but she is very smart and observant.  I know where she should be developmentally and I try not to compare and assess her so much, but it's hard to do sometimes.  She is a very happy, friendly, and outgoing little girl!  She loves looking at her books and pointing to her favorite things in the story. Ava went to the doctor to get her 15 month shot, and she weighs 24lbs.  She is my healthy eater.  I was shocked when she ate a doughnut for breakfeast on Valentine's day, she usually turns her nose up at sweets, and goes right for her meat and veggies.

Baby # 2:  I have my next visit with the doctor on the 19th.  The last visit I had they told me I had lost 2lbs!  I was so excited because this means I have not gained anything yet!  However, I know that the weight will all come on here shortly as the baby gets bigger especially in the third trimester.  I guess there is a somewhat positive side to working while you are pregnant.  I never sit or relax when I am at work I am always on the go so maybe that's why I have not put any weight on just yet.  This baby has been kicking and flipping alot, and I love it.  It makes me feel better when he moves alot because I know he is alright. We have not come up with a name and I have a feeling it's going to be a battle to settle on one.

Valentine's Day:  We spent the day together as a family. We went to the mall and got Ava a new pair of shoes, and I got two new maternity outfits!  Later on that night My Mom offered to watch Ava because her and my Dad did not have plans.  Bert and I tried a few nearby restaurants but the wait was insane.  We ended up eating at Qdoba, and walked over to blockbuster afterward to rent Shark Tale for Ava ( Bert and I also enjoy kid movies.)  Bert joked during dinner that this Valentine's ranked pretty high, but I honestly would not have wanted it any other way.  I only wish our little man was here already to share it with us.  I am so excited for him to come into this world!

  1. Great updates, Ann!  I enjoyed hearing that you haven't gained any weight thus far.  I've gained a few pounds, but I was starting to feel like I wasn't doing things right/well since I kept reading that I was suppose to have gained at least 10 pounds by 19 weeks.  I'm very encouraged by your story.  I think you'll love having a little boy.  Good luck coming to a consensus on boy's names- I think they're harder than girl's names.
