Happy New Year

The only people who got a little crazy last night were two little girls ages two and under.  We had the Mullers over for dinner and we decided we are the oldest 20 somethings around.  We couldn't even make it to midnight.  Ava and Caroline had SO much fun running around the house and playing with all the new Christmas toys!  The girls got to eat at their own table in the family room, and they helped make the new year cake!  Alex was an angel as usual.  We had a really great night talking and just being together.  I am so thankful I have at least one of my friends that is married with kids I can relate to.  I am sure my sister gets tired of me calling her everyday asking for different things that involves children and husbands.  My sister is the best and helps me out a lot!  I wish everyone a very great prosperous NEW YEAR!

Twas the night before Christmas..........

and all through the house not a creature was stirring ( except for Bert and I trying to get Santa gifts displayed.)  I really do wish there was a Santa Claus!  Tonight we went to Church and ate at my parents house afterward.  We opened gifts with my sister and her family.  It was way too late but worth it!  The kids loved what they got!  Bert and I are currently setting up Santa gifts.  Tomorrow is a crazy busy day.  I hope I can post tomorrow night as well.  Merry Christmas to everyone!  May your heart be filled with joy and laughter today and always!  Both my angels are fast asleep, will they ever know how much I love them?

6 months

Alex went to the doctor for his sixth month checkup, and Ava got to tag along for her second seasonal flu shot and H1N1.  Alex checked out very well.  He weighed 15lbs, 11oz .  I thought he was going to weigh a lot more than that  because he is a great eater.  He loves his rice cereal and all the first foods (pears, bananas, squash, peas, and carrots.) I have officially stopped nursing.  A little sad for me, but I thought it was time to give it up. The past couple days have been busy with Bert and I having birthdays back to back.  I feel great at 27 years old.  My two biggest accomplishments our getting married and having my two kids.  They are my life and what I live for!

My Leoman

My first nephew Mr. Leo was born three years ago today.  I don't want to steal my sister's thunder of his birth, I'll just give my version of it.  I was so excited when my sister told me she was expecting this little boy, because I wanted a baby myself.  I remember my brother Philip banging on our front door and back window to try and wake Bert and I up in the middle of the night to tell us Sarah had gone into labor.  This was the first Grandchild in our family.  The love and excitement was incredible!  When we finally heard the loud bangs I jumped out of bed and knew immediately what was going on.  There was no question in my mind I was calling into work and staying at the hospital for the entire birth.  I was blessed to be in the room when Leo was born.  I cried and felt so full of Love that day, thinking if I feel this way with my nephew what will I be like when I have a baby of my own.  When I held Leo for the first time I didn't want to give him back, he was AMAZING.  We made faces at one another and checked each other out.  I also felt so proud and was in complete awe of my sister''s strength.  Throughout the entire birth she was calm and handled it like a champ, I was the one stressing about her pain.  When Leo came home from the hospital, I rode in the car with him for his first car ride home.  Looking back I'm sure my sister and Mitchell might have felt I was intruding, but at the time I felt it was ok.  I honestly had a hard time leaving my sister's condo after visits with this sweet little baby.  Leo has and always will have a special place in my heart.  After all I am not only his Aunt, I am his Godmother as well!  I love you Leo, and I hope Mommy reads this post to you.  You are the smartest boy I know, and I love you with all my heart, which is bigger than a JUNGLE!  By the way your Ava may not be able to say it yet but she loves you too!  We all love you Leo, you make our life so happy! Here are some random pictures of Leo through the years.

Ava and Alex Videos

Here is some video action of Ava matching her colors and shapes with her Melissa and Doug toy, and Alex saying DA DA!!!!!!!!!!  I love my babies so much. Ava has been matching her colors, shapes, and body parts with the file folder games I have made her as well.  I am so proud of her.  Ava will have her first Mommy and me dance class next Saturday, then start baby ballet in January.  I can't wait to get her a light blue leotard (thats the color the class wears) with tights and shoes and matching bows!!!!!!!  I have dreamed about taking my little girl to dance before she was born.  Needless to say I'm tearing up just thinking about it, and will be crying her first day.  I am that kind of Mom, oh well.

Two girls and a little boy at play

Ava and her friend Caroline played together so nicely today.  Everytime I checked on them they were playing animal tea party, reading books, playing kitchen, and jumping on the bed!  I don't mind if they jump on Ava's bed because it's less than a foot from the ground and they had their shoes off.  They both ate all their lunch and to my surprise no one wanted to watch a movie.  Ava or Caroline will usually take my hand over to the DVD's and request one.  Sometimes movies are a little too popular around here.  I don't want my kids watching T.V all day.  I can see this is going to get a little difficult now that winter weather has arrived.  I will have to start getting a little more creative.  Alex is my sweet boy and played great as well.  After racking in past 9:00, he was ready for some action.  Alex is sleeping a good 9-10 hours straight now!  Here are some pictures of a great play day and what we've been up to.

In other news, Bert is still on the hunt for a job.  We are very appreciative to those who have helped us!  Bert is looking for something in Architecture, Construction management, and/or Facility management.  If you have any leads let us know.  We are staying hopeful!
