Christmas break videos

Merry Christmas and more....

So far the Christmas break has been a blast despite the fact Ava was sick on Christmas Eve.  We took Ava to the doctor Christmas Eve morning and the doctor said she had an ear infection (her first one) and pink eye!   In fact the doctor could not believe she had never been on anti-biotics before.  Of course our first round of them would have to be Christmas, but as I said everything turned out alright. Ava has had a cold for about a week now, nothing severe just a runny nose and a little cough, but enough to be annoying to her.  We missed out on a few festivities Christmas Eve, but the doctor assured us she would not be contagious after 24 hours.  We still enjoyed our Christmas together.  Ava has enjoyed seeing her relatives and playing with all the toys Santa brought.  Ava received so many nice Christmas gifts.  Bert and I did pretty well ourselves.  We are very excited to wear our new clothes, and use our many gift cards.  Thank you especially to my Mom who made Christmas so wonderful.  She always knows the right things to get for people.  Her gifts have so much thought and meaning behind them.  I truly enjoyed opening each and everyone of her gifts.

Today we went to the park by our house thanks to the awesome weather today.  I realize the warm weather will probably bring storms, but it was so nice to get out and take a walk with Ava without everyone having to bundle up with multiple layers.  I hope everyone enjoyed the weather, and had a very merry Christmas.

Happy Birthday To ME!

Today is my 26th birthday.  I am not thrilled about being closer to thirty.  Last night Bert took me to a wonderful fancy dinner at Volare on Frankfort Avenue.  Everything was delicious!  It was nice being alone with my husband.  After dinner we went to see the Nutcracker.  I have not seen the Nutcracker since grade school.  The ballet was beautiful.  I have so many favorite parts in this ballet.  Looking around in the audience I saw a few little girls all dressed up with their parents, and It made me think of my little Ava and how great it's going to be when she can come with us in a few years to go see the ballet.  During intermission they were selling ballerina itmes for little girls.  Of course I had to get her something, so we decided to get her a little ballerina purse.  When we got home that night we gave it to her, and she loved it.  She flung it on her arm and walked around with it the rest of the night.  Thank you to Grammy and Grandaddy for watching her.  I really appreciate the love and care you give her!!!!

Tonight is going to be just as great!  My brother Tommy comes in from NY and my whole family will be eating dinner at my Mom's house.  This brings joy to my heart.  I love when we are all together.  I miss my brother very much and am so anxious to see him.  I love you Tommy!!  See you soon!

Birthday Surprise

Last night was so much fun.  First we attended Leo's 2nd Birthday party at good ol Chuck E. Cheese.  I must say it was everything you might think Chuck E.Cheese would be, loud, chaotic, children screaming, and jam packed.  We did have a very good time.  I loved watching Leo open his presents and blowing out the candle on his cake.  Speaking of blowing out candles there was a surprise at the end of Leo's wish  making skills.  My sister announced she was expecting her third baby!  I am so happy for her and Mitchell.  I can't believe our babies will be 2 months apart.  Talk about being close cousins!

After the birthday party Bert dropped me off at my friends house for our annual Christmas party.  Everyone brings 2 gifts and we play naughty santa.  Meaning, you get to take other pepole's gifts when it is your turn to choose.  This always results in a fight because the gifts keep getting better and everyone wants the same two or three items.  People even make alliances with each other so they can get what they want.  It's very amusing to watch.  I ended up getting 2 wine glasses that my friend Amy hand painted and nars blush and lip balm.  I am very pleased with my gifts.  I think we might need to switch our rules to you get what you get.  The whole game took about 2 hours!

My pregnancy is going very well.  I get emotional at times but I kind of enjoy being sentimental about everything!  I am not throwing up as much, and I feel like I am getting some energy back.  My next doctor's appointment is the 17th, the same day as Ava's Christmas program.  Ava will be clapping and singing on stage Wed. night at 7:00 if anyone would like to attend.  I am so excited!  I've been sneeking some peeks at her practicing at school, she is too cute!  I cannot say enough about our music teacher.  She comes down from the performing arts school to teach our children, and she is just absolutely amazing.  Her name is Dr. Laura Chipe.  I firmly believe in sending my children to catholic private schools.  She is one of the many reasons Bert and I feel this way.  Ava is only one and already getting the best education there is.  She is only at school for a short period of time (2 hours,) Grammy keeps coming earlier, but I would'nt want her there any longer.  Bert and I decided to enroll her so she could socialize with her peers and experience music, art, and spanish with other adults besides us.  I feel like she is really thriving from this experience.

Weekend Outings

This weekend was pretty busy.  We did some Christmas shopping, Christmas tree hunting, relative visiting, and ended with a pancake breakfast and an unpleasant visit with Santa Claus.  Bert has made it a family tradition to go to Meyer farm (near Huber farm) and cut down our own Christmas tree.  This year was unsuccessful.  We went but found nothing we liked, it was slim pickings.  Bert is quite the expert on Christmas trees.  Why, I don't know exactly.  However, he prefers a fraser fir.  We eventually picked out our fraser fir Christmas tree at Home Depot.  We were all very excited because we all agreed on the same tree!  Bert has told me he prefers the fraser fir because you can put lights and ornaments far back into the tree.  Bert would never settle for an artificial tree, heaven forbid we have a child that  might be allergic to them.  I do appreciate Bert's passion he puts into everything.  He thinks with his head and heart, and I love him for this.

I AM TIRED

I was not going to write this post but I decided to go for it and write it anyway.  After reading my sister' s blog it mentioned something about being tired.  Maybe this will just make me feel better by getting it off my chest.  Today for the second day in a row, and a few days last week my director asked me if I felt ok because I looked tired and to use her words"are you ok, are you sick?"  At first my thoughts were no I'm fine, shake it off, maybe I did not put enough makeup on, ect.  The more I thought about it the more upset I got.  I felt like saying YES I am sick and tired, do you know what I have already done this morning.  Well let me tell you.  I have thrown up, unloaded the dishwasher, put in a load of laundry, made three lunches, took a shower, blow dryed my hair, picked out an outfit for myself and Ava, got dressed, put makeup on, fixed breakfeast, gathered my school materials, fixed Ava's hair, ran out the door and here I am.  I just want to say YES I am sick and tired, I am pregnant and worn out from everything!!!!!!

I don't know what's gotten into me.  People that act worn out and tired that are single and have no children I am starting to resent.  What do you mean you are tired??????

Ok thats over with I already feel better.  I really do love my job and family and am so thankful for everything in my life, but stress gets the better of me sometimes.  I do fantasize from time to time about what it would be like to stay home and not be rushed to work every morning.  Don't get me wrong staying at home is a job in itself and one that I would love to do.  When I stayed home with Ava for nine weeks I was not sitting around all day, but my shedule was my own.

Millions of people all around the world do what I do everyday and have alot more things on their plate, but I am just feeling the stress right now.  I am looking forward to Christmas break to say the least.

It's been a long time

It has been a long time since my last post, and so much has happened.  First, my computer has been messed up. Someone hacked into my facebook account and gave me a virus which Bert finally was able to fix.  Second, Ava had her one year check up, and she is doing wonderful.  She is 30 inches and weighs 23 lbs.  Ava's new thing is to blow everybody kisses, and she loves to give our dog Bella her treats.  Ava is in to everything and very active to say the least.  She is becoming a very curious toddler.  Recently, Ava has been teething.  I can feel lots of teeth coming in and she has been a litle cranky because of it.  We also celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday and it all went well!  I must say Bert and I make a good team, we fight in the beginning of a project but we always pull through and make it a huge success.  It was our first year doing Thanksgiving at our house.  It was stressful, but like I said I think a huge success.  Bert deep fried the Turkey and made the sweet potatoes(both were amazing.)  I made the candy apples, stuffing, green beans, rolls, and cranberries.  My mom was kind enough to due the mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese.  Sarah brought the apple pie.  I also worked hard on my table settings.  Everyone had their own mini bouquet of flowers.  Overall, I was very happy with the way things turned out.

Today, we have started decorating our house for Christmas!  I love Christmas and I am so excited for Ava to celebrate Christmas this year.  She loves looking at all the Christmas decorations especially the ones that make noise.  It's going to be a great Christmas. I forgot to mention I had an ultra sound last week and baby #2 is doing great!  The heartbeat was 167, and all the other stats look great as well.  I am so thrilled about having another baby, however morning sickness is a  B****!  It comes and it goes.  Some days are better than others, and usually the worst happens in the evenings.  I can't complain too much because some people have it way worse, and the end result is a beautiful new addtion to our family.

Ava's First Day At School

Today Ava had her first experience being away from anyone she was normally use to.  No Grammy, Grandaddy, Grandma, Grandpa, Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Mitchell, Aunt Sarah, you get the idea. Ava had a great day she never ceases to amaze me.  She didn't cry when we left she was so happy to be around other kids her age, she practically ran into the room! I was so proud of her.  She started her day reading some books and talking with a few friends.  I saw her playing with two girls Gabriella and Lilly Grace.  I forgot to mention Ava's little room is right next door to my classroom, so I can peek in on her anytime I want.  Next on Ava's agenda was Music with Ms. Laura, she got her hands on some cool instruments!  She finished the day with a buggy ride and lunch.  I picked her up while she was finishing her lunch and Ava passed out right away during the car ride home.  Ava is still use to a morning nap, but she won't be getting one anymore.  I couldn't be more pleased with her first day.  I am so excited for her.  She is getting so big.  I was worried about her starting so early but she proved me wrong.  She sat at the little table just fine and ate her snack when she has never done that before.  Ava has always eaten in a high chair.  Ava is at school for about 3 1/2 hours so I think that definately helps matters.  Here are a few pictures of how the day went.  I had my co-teacher take most of them because I thought she might get upset if she saw me.  Who knows she probably would have been just fine if she had.
