Candy Candy Everywhere!

This year's Easter has to be the record so far for the most amount of candy my children have received!  We have tons and tons of sweets and chocolate, I don't know what I am going to do with it all.

Our Easter started off with a visit from the Easter Bunny, church at Lourdes, my parents house, and then a trip to my husband's side of the family.  It's been busy but fun!  Ava and Alex have enjoyed their candy, spending time with relatives, and a little egg hunting as well.

Everyone is passed out on the couch including Daddy so I figured this would be a good time to update the blog, clean up a little around the house, do some laundry, and get everything ready for school tomorrow.  It's amazing what I can get done while others are sleeping:)  I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.

Pictures from the week

Just an average week for us at the Hughes's household.  Lots of painting, baking, coloring, playing, school, and horse back riding lessons.  I think this weekend is going to pretty much fly by, so I thought I would update now before our busy weekend arrives.

A quick update on Alex.  He is talking so much!!!!!!!!  He repeats everything you say, "i love you, mama, dada, plane, car, ava, bella, mimi, grandaddy, no, mine, etc.  Getting him to say helicopter is pretty funny to hear.  He is super loveable and sweet.

Ava is as strong as ever and as I mentioned in the last post developing somewhat of an attitude.  Today at her horse back riding lesson there were two other older girls in her ring.  I have never seen Ava have  a better lesson.  I feel like she was trying to prove to those girls she could do whatever they were doing.  She held up her posture, and reins, and didn't giggle like she usually does when trotting.  She was serious and ready to ride today.  She was exceptionally cute and a joy to watch:)  We are however cutting her lessons back to every other week because she has mentioned she wants to play baseball with her cousin Gus.  I think at three Ava's schedule is filling up a little too quickly and we need to cut back a little.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Great Weekend

Ava enjoyed some backyard pool time after the big storm on Saturday while Alex was napping.  Today we went to the zoo with Daddy.  We stayed a total of four hours, and sunscreen was definitely needed and applied regularly.

Alex enjoyed riding on Bert's shoulders most of the day, and was so happy the entire day.  He loves his Daddy so much!

Little miss Ava was full of drama today.  Bert and I sat there with our mouth hung open on and off during the day wondering where is she getting this stuff?  For instance when we were waiting for the sea lions to perform she decided she wanted to sit alone, then she wanted to walk around by herself, holding one hand on her hip, shaking her hips, stomping her feet while walking, and would pose on and off for pictures.  During a break in her prissy mood she would go back to being a sweet little girl and told me how much she loved me, and held my hand. We love our sweet beany baby so much and don't want her growing up so quickly, but we know she is becoming extremely independent more and more each day.

I hope everyone enjoyed this awesome summer weather.
