Summer Days and Nights

My kids are turning copper/brown, a for sure sign summer is here!  We are outside everyday in our pool or our friend's pool!  My kids love playing in the water!  We are keeping busy this summer having lots of fun with all our cousins and friends.  Tonight Bert had guys night out and it came to my attention my sister's husband and my friends' husband also had plans this evening, so I thought it would be great if us Mommys got together with our kiddos for some pizza and cupcakes!  After we swam and ate outside (look at the pictures and you will see why I made them eat their cupcakes outside,) we came in to dry off and have a dance party where everyone dressed up. I hope the summer continues to be entertaining!

What would we do without our cousins?

I have no idea what we would do without our cousins Leo, Gus, and Tillie.  They are always up for a playdate.  Today we set up both pools and let the kids splash for hours.  Alex's new birthday toys also kept everyone busy when it was time to come inside.  Alex is such the sweetheart and didn't mind everyone playing with his new toys.  I am so happy my sister and I have kids so close, they have automatic best friends!

ALEX TURNS ONE!!

My little baby boy is one year old today!  What an exciting day it has been.  We all woke up super early so I could run the 5k down at the waterfront.  My little family cheered me on through the rain, and I was so happy to have them there with me.  Alex's party plans have been consuming me for months, and today was the day we finally got to celebrate his big day.  First birthdays are always special and a little sad.  I feel as if they are graduating from baby to toddler.

At one year old Alex can almost walk.  He took four steps at his birthday party for the first time!!!!  He loves to stand by himself and he can stand without pulling himself up onto anything.  He still prefers crawling, and I think he prefers this because he is a super fast crawler!  He continues to say Da Da alot and waves goodbye.  He still looks kind of tiny to me.  He wears 12-18 month clothes and a size 3 shoe.  He loves figuring things out like how to get into drawers, closets, opening and shutting doors, turning on and off light switches, hiding toys and finding them, and knocking things down and picking them back up.

Lots of family came over to celebrate Alex's big day, I didn't get pictures of all of them, but here are the ones I was able to get.

Alex's party went very well. The menu included BBQ, orzo pasta, corn, fruit, chips and dip, and of course cake and chocolate suckers!  My brother Tommy called earlier and said he really wished he could be there, so I told him I would give him every detail I could.  Alex received so many nice presents that we are so grateful for, especially another water toy to play outside with!  I made a video for Alex's birthday and everyone watched it at the party.  Here are some more pictures of Alex's special day.  I'll try and post the video later, I can't get it to work right now.

I love you Alex you are the sweetest most precious little boy, and even though you can be a michevious little monkey, Mommy loves you more and more everyday.  You are our sweet little Angel!

Happy Saturday

It was an extremely hot, humid day, but we made the best of it.  We took an early morning walk at Seneca park while Daddy was at work.  After the park we hit up one of our favorite stores TARGET!  Target was a must because we had to purchase a gift for our BFF Caroline!  We had so much fun at Caroline's Dora party.  The kids enjoyed swimming in Caroline's new pool.  I put in some pictures of Lourdes ride night and picnic from Thursday and Friday as well as pictures from today.  I must say I didn't get that many pictures, it's hard to snap good photos when there is so much going on.  The pictures I took of Ava and Alex going down the big slide at Lourdes with Uncle Nash and Daddy didn't turn out!  Hopefully, I am sure there will be a next time.
