Dora Dora Dora the Explorer

Today was a big day for everybody.  My husband got the win he wanted from his beloved Cats, and Ava and Alex had fun meeting Dora at the Shelbyville Kroger.  After our big Dora meet and greet we ate at Claudia Sanders restaurant.  It was a pretty good Sunday if I do say so!

Alex was not interested in seeing Dora too closely!

Ava's friend from school Heidi was there too!

Zoo 2011

This was our first zoo trip of the year.  We had so much fun! By far their favorite exhibits were the sea lion, tapir, and the train. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

Hot Pink Pants

When I bought these pink leggings at Target, I imagined Ava wearing them under a dress, but Ava had her own ideas about when she would wear them.  Ava is really into picking out her own clothes, she starts with her underwear.  She chooses between Dora and horses.  From there she chooses her outfit, and if it's a dress we are all good, if it's not a dress she chooses something crazy like a cubs t-shirt and a frilly skirt, or like today, hot pink leggings and a turtle t-shirt.  Since I got to pick out her dress for church I let her pick out her play outfit.

We had a great relaxing weekend. I hope everyone is enjoying this amazing weather.

St. Patty's Day Parade

I got some great pictures of the parade.  The weather was PERFECT!  We had so much fun with our friends the Mullers!  Philip took Bert's place for the day because Bert had to work.  We will definitely be going back next year.

I would like to take some time to brag about my little brother Philip.  I don't know to many twenty one year olds who would have agreed to take Bert's place for the day.  My little brother was more than happy to go to the parade and have fun with his niece and nephew.  Philip has such a mature uplifting attitude about life.  He is always willing to help.  He is going to be an incredible Father one day.  He already knows when someone needs a drink, paci, a hug, to be walked around the restaurant for a little while, setting up strollers, grabbing diaper bags, hands washed, etc.  He has had a lot of practice with 3 nephews, two nieces, and one more on the way.  He is simply amazing to me, and does all this with a smile and warm heart.  I love you Philip!  I can't thank you enough for joining me yesterday.  You made the day so peaceful and pleasant.

My favorite picture of the day...... A tired little Alex with his Uncle Philip
