A Good Sport!

Ava is such a great sport about everything.  As you can see in the picture she put up with me while I decided to play around a little bit.  Ava's new favorite thing to do with Mommy and Daddy is dance.  She laughs so loud when Bert picks her up and holds her arm out to dance.  We turn on her Disney CD where Minnie, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy take turns singing.  Somethimes will put her in her crib and she will watch Bert and I dance silly and she gets an even bigger kick out of this.  I love my life right now, I don't have many complaints.  I do wish I could be home with her all day, but I know the time will come so I will just make the best of it now.

Newport Aquarium

Today was an exciting day, we went to the Newpot aquarium in you guessed it Newport, Kentucky.  I must say I was very impressed!  The aquarium was amazing.  The sharks were the big hit, they even had an exhibit were you could pet the sharks.  Even though Ava will not remember this when she is older she had a wonderful time.  She napped all the way up to Newport so she was in a great mood (Ava is usually in a good mood.)  They have lots of shops around the aquarium and a live band was playing on the Newport levee.  Unfortunately, our camera ran out of batteries half way through our trip.  After the aquarium we went and shopped around for a while and walked down by the levee.  We had a beer at the Irish pub and went to a German restaurant for dinner (disgusting, I hate German food,) but I went for Bert's sake because I know he enjoys trying new beers and he does love German food.

Shopping for Ava

The past couple of days have been great because I have been shopping for Ava.  Some stores are starting to get their fall clothes out and they are so cute.  I know the dress looks like the one I bought her for Easter (for those of you who pay close attention to the blog,) but this one is a beautiful light blue yes blue I know I usually dress her in pink.  Anyways it was half off and I could not resist.  Ava could always use another fancy dress because I dress her up for church.  I thought she might be able to wear it to a wedding in October but it fits her now.  If you didn't already know I very much enjoy having a little girl, no offense to all those wonderful little boys.  I always wanted a little girl and now I have her!  The older she gets the more exciting it is to shop for her.  I posted some pictures of a few things I bought for her today.  It's so hard to judge what size she will be in the fall.  I don't know why but there were lots of fall clothes on sale at Target.  If something is on sale I buy it.  This is kind of a silly pointless blog entry but I can't tell you enough how I love my little girl and desperatly want to have another one when the time comes.  Sorry Bert I know you would love to have a boy.  We will see what God gives us.

No Tan for Ann

Today I was determined to get some sun on my very pale body.  I feel like I am out in the sun a lot and I do not have a tan at all.  I gave up the tanning bed a long time ago and refuse to start again because it is so bad for your skin.  I was all set to lay out while Ava napped and then get her in the baby pool after she woke up.  Well things did not go according to plan, I did some laundry and fell asleep.  After Ava and I woke up we got in the baby pool for about 15 minuets and it started to rain.  I just don't think it was meant for me to be tan this summer.  Oh well I guess I will have to buy some self tanner. However, Bert absolutely hates the smell and overall look of self tanner.  Being the wonderful husband he is, he sprays my back for me anyways.  No I did not post any pictures of me and my very white body.  I think everyone would be happier seeing cute little Ava.  Bert also thinks I am beautiful just the way I am (no tan.)  I guess I can't complain, I just feel better with a tan.

Lakeside

Today was Ava's first time swimming in a big pool. She took to the water pretty well.  She was a little fussy but I think that had to do with the fact she was tired.  She enjoyed spending time with her cousins Leo and Gus and her special friend Nicholas!  Maybe next time Bert can join in on the fun and not be stuck in a meeting.  Bert and I really need to think about getting a membership somewhere next year.  Who knows maybe in a couple years we will be Lakeside members.

A visit from baby Caroline

Today was a real surprise! My friend Jennifer who had her baby on June 15th came over to visit today.  We had dinner together (leftovers, nothing exciting.)  We talked and caught up with one another.  I think it was good for the both of us, I have really missed her.  Our little girls cannot play together just yet but they will be close friends before you know it.  Holding baby Caroline only made my baby fever worse.  I can't wait to have another baby!  At first I wanted to wait a couple of years, but now I think I am ready for another bundle of joy.  I think it's good to have your kids back to back.  When they are so young and another sibling comes along they can't understand jealousy. I loved the way I was so close to my brothers and sister growing up.  We had the best time playing with each other and I hope my children will get to experience that as well.

Ava is now eight months old and she is so amazing.  She can sit up, crawl, pull her self up, and take a few steps while holding on to something.  She weighs 20lbs.  She says Ma Ma, Da Da, and Ba Ba.  She is opening cabinets and pulling toys out of baskets.  I love this new stage in her life, mobility!  However, with this age comes teething.  Ava is not very cranky but she is running fevers, and is not eating very well.  If you look in her mouth you would see why.  She has four teeth coming in on the top and one on the bottom to go along with her three teeth she already has.  Poor little girl, they all decided to come in at once.

Sunday Fun

Today we started off our day right by going to church.  After church we ate with my parents and took a short trip to Target.  Next on the agenda was some quality time with Bert's parents at the Lebanese American country club. Ava enjoyed swinging on the playground!  When we got home Ava took a nap and Bert and I got to watch one of the movies we rented.  After Ava woke up I fixed some dinner and we went on a walk and stopped at the park in our neighborhood for another ride in the swing.  If it sounds like everything seemed to just fall into place today thats because it did, it was a perfect relaxing Sunday.  I am so thankful for today, my husband and daughter are so amazing!

Happy Birthday America and Grandpa!!!!!

Bert and I hosted a 4th of July party/suprise birthday party for his Dad.  I think a good time was had by all.  Bert and I enjoy having lots of people over to our house, one of the main reasons we remodeled our kitchen.  The kitchen was a huge success, their was plenty of room for everyone.  Bert's Dad turned 75 on July 3rd, and let me tell you he looks great!  We love you so much Grandpa, Happy Birthday again!!!!!!  The festivities started at 4:00 p.m.  Everyone arrived promptly about this time.  We had plenty of appetizers; Mexican pizza, blueberry cheese spread, guacomole dip, BLT dip, pineapple and bacon puff pastries, and plenty of drinks!  Dinner was around 6:00 and we feasted on Frankfort avenue BBQ, my delicious tortellini pasta salad, baked beans, and fresh fruit.  For desert we had a variety of treats; Barbara's homemade peach and apple pies, a jelly roll made by Marianne, and cookies made by Aunt Rose.

I put in lots of pictures please enjoy!

AVA crawling...

The Louisville Zoo (again)

It seems that Sarah and I have been spending alot of time together making our blog entrys quite similar.  So here it goes, I went to the zoo today with Sarah Leo Gus and Marianne.  We had a great time, and thank you again Marianne for getting us in free.  I really appreciate your kindness.  I am off work all this week and it has been awesome.  I have enjoyed being home all day and doing fun things with Ava I don't normally get to do.  Eating breakfeast and putting her down for her morning nap was such a treat.  I really do treasure the extra time I get to spend with her when I am off work.  Ava enjoyed the time she got to spend with Leo and Gus as much as she enjoyed the animals at the zoo.  She loves her cousins and gets so excited when she sees them.  Here are the pictures from the zoo, Ava never looked at the camera the whole day!!!!!
