Rainy Days

We made the best of the stormy rainy day. Bert took the car to Lexington so it was just the kids and me from 7:30-10:30.  When my kids look back on this blog I hope they see I did my best to entertain, educate, and love them every way I knew possible.  It was a rather busy rainy day.  We played lots of dress up, baked a cake, painted pictures, read almost every book on their shelf, folded some laundry, snuggled on the couch to watch the backyardagains, and were able to take an evening walk.  I love you Ava and Alex!  I hope you had as much fun as I did today!

Busy Weekend!!

So far this weekend I have successfully ran in the 3 mile race at the zoo, celebrated my sweet nephew Gussy's birthday, and prepared a yummy brunch for my Mom and sister for Mother's day!  We have one more event to attend with Bert's family and then the weekend will officially be completed!  I have had an incredible Mother's day and feel so blessed and love.  I hope all the Moms out there have a great Mother's day!  Happy Mother's Day one more time Mom!!  Enjoy all the pics!

Our Lady of Lourdes

I finally got around to scanning our church directory photos.  I like the ones of Ava and Alex but not so much the family shot.  I was not about to complain during the photo shoot because our kids were hanging on by a thread, so I just let it go!  I hope Bert finds a job in Louisville so my kiddos can go to school here.  We joined after Christmas and love it tremendously.  Our goal is to move into the surrounding neighborhood so Ava and Alex and whoever else might come along can walk to school.  Hopefully, we will hear something in the next few weeks about a job, this week was a bust NOTHING!

P.S.  I am super excited about my first race tomorrow.  I will be running 3 miles around the zoo with shin splints!

Time for a swim

After a long day at the zoo yesterday, I thought we would just stay in today and have fun playing and watching movies, but I had a feeling the girls wanted to do something else.  So, I set up the backyard got everyone into their swimsuits and sunscreen, and turned on the hose.  The girls loved the pool but the water was too cold for Alex, and he certainly let them know this.  Ava and Caroline played very nicely together, they were so loving towards one another.  They have been giving each other hugs, kisses, and sharing toys all day!  Everyone is napping now so I think they must have all wore themselves out.  The weather is beautiful today and I'm glad we spent the majority of our day outside.

Derby

I'm sure many of you are expecting some Derby pictures, but unfortunately I did not take one, not a single one!  We went to two AWESOME parties, one on Oaks, one on Derby.  We had the best time, Ava and Alex played, laughed, ate, and met some new friends.  Mommy and Daddy had a great time too!  I snapped a few pictures of Ava and I before we went to bed last night and one of Alex this morning so I would have at least a few pictures to post today.  It was a fun filled weekend and we are truly grateful for our amazing friends!

I have a good feeling about this week, hopefully Bert will hear something from some jobs he recently applied to!
