We had a very long day trip today!! We went to the aquarium in Newport, Ky, had lunch, went to the Duke Energy Children's museum, did a little shopping, went to dinner, and then headed home! The kids napped in the car between destinations and adjusted very well to the long day. The car ride home was sort of long, but other than that everything turned out awesome. We were not able to meet up with some friends but we will definitely catch up with them next time. The aquarium was beautiful and we practically had the place to ourselves. Ava was a little nervous about some of the fish, mainly the sharks but she found comfort in clinging to Bert. She also thought she was going to fall through the glass floor!
After lunch we ventured over to the Children's museum. I highly recommend this museum to anyone that has children. We could have stayed there forever, there was soooooooo much to do. Ava was in heaven, and Alex had alot of fun as well at the museum and even got a small taste of his first sucker! We managed to purchase two small things from the gift shop. If it were up to Ava she would have walked away with half the store. I love how she goes into these shops and immediatley starts gathering everything she wants and takes them over to the cashier!! Our little beanies is one in a million. We are all exhausted but it was so much fun! We plan on making one more trip to the aquarim and museum during the summer.
